Staying informed about travel advisories issued by your government or relevant authorities is advisable, as they provide specific information about safety concerns or potential risks in certain areas.

Respecting local customs and traditions is also essential while traveling in Morocco. Familiarize yourself with local laws and regulations, dress modestly in religious or conservative areas, and show consideration for cultural sensitivities.

By planning ahead, staying vigilant, and following safety guidelines, you can have a rewarding and enjoyable experience while visiting Morocco.

Taking your children on a trip to Morocco can be an incredible experience, but it’s important to carefully consider a few factors before finalizing your decision. Morocco offers a culturally rich and historically significant environment that can be educational and enjoyable for children. They can immerse themselves in the vibrant markets, visit captivating landmarks, and gain insights into local traditions and customs.

However, it’s crucial to take into account the unique needs and preferences of your children. Morocco may differ from their home country in terms of climate, language, and cultural norms. It’s essential to evaluate their adaptability to new environments and their ability to cope with potential challenges.

Certain destinations in Morocco may require additional planning and consideration when traveling with children. For example, navigating crowded medinas or undertaking long journeys in the desert may necessitate extra attention to ensure their comfort and safety.

It is highly recommended to conduct thorough research and plan your itinerary accordingly, making sure to include child-friendly activities and accommodations. Consulting with your healthcare provider about necessary vaccinations and health precautions for children traveling to Morocco is also advised.

Ultimately, the decision to travel with children to Morocco depends on your family’s preferences, the ages and temperaments of your children, and your capacity to cater to their specific needs during the trip.

While it is generally acceptable to take portraits of people in Morocco, it is essential to prioritize respect and cultural sensitivity. Although many Moroccans are open to being photographed, it is courteous to ask for their permission before capturing their portrait.

In certain traditional or conservative areas, individuals may prefer not to be photographed or may have specific beliefs and customs regarding photography. It is crucial to be aware of this and honor their preferences if they decline to be photographed.

Moreover, when capturing portraits, it is important to be mindful of the context and surroundings. Respect personal boundaries, avoid intruding on private or intimate moments, and consider the privacy of individuals.

By approaching people with respect, seeking their consent, and being aware of cultural sensitivities, you can have a positive and respectful photography experience in Morocco.

Morocco offers favorable travel conditions throughout the year, thanks to its diverse geography. Regardless of the season, there is always a region with a pleasant climate. Based on your travel dates and weather preferences, we can recommend the perfect destination for you.

During winter, it is recommended to venture south towards the desert. Although the nights can be cool, the days are characterized by abundant sunshine and clear blue skies. If you plan your trip in summer, the Atlantic coast generally offers mild temperatures, making it an excellent season for trekking in the Atlas Mountains. With altitudes exceeding 1800 meters, you can expect a refreshing atmosphere. However, if you have suitable accommodations and can adapt to the heat, there is nothing stopping you from exploring the Moroccan desert during this time as well.

Exploring Southern Morocco during the summer months of July and August is entirely feasible, provided that you can acclimate to the high temperatures and make appropriate accommodation choices. Here’s a recommended approach:

To combat the heat, it is advisable to indulge in an afternoon rest in an air-conditioned room or find respite in shaded areas near the pool. Traveling in an air-conditioned car and planning your itinerary to take advantage of the more pleasant mornings and evenings will also contribute to a more enjoyable experience.

It is crucial to prioritize sun protection by bringing along sunglasses, a hat, or ideally, a cheiche (a nomadic headscarf). Staying well-hydrated is essential, and you will find bottled mineral water of excellent quality available throughout Morocco, with popular brands like Sidi Ali and Sidi Harazem.

One minor inconvenience to consider is the uncertain waste management in rural areas. You will need to transport empty bottles back to the city with you.

Keep in mind that the summer months, particularly in cities like Fes and Marrakech, can be scorching. However, the dry heat can be manageable if you adapt to the conditions and spend the hotter afternoon hours indoors.

For a more comfortable experience, it is recommended to visit the imperial cities between September and June when the weather is typically more pleasant.

During the daytime, temperatures in Morocco can be quite warm, so it is advisable to pack comfortable, loose, and lightweight clothing. However, evenings can be cooler, so it’s recommended to bring a jacket or a lightweight cover-up for added warmth. While most hotel rooms have air conditioning, not all of them do, so it’s good to be prepared.

In the desert, temperatures can vary significantly, ranging from cold at night to very hot during the day. It’s important to have clothing that provides coverage to prevent sunburn. If you are staying in a tent, we will provide extra blankets for your comfort.

Don’t forget to bring sunglasses and a head covering to protect yourself from the sun. Sunscreen can be purchased locally upon your arrival. Comfortable walking shoes are also essential for exploring various places.

It’s important to note that Moroccans value modesty, so it’s respectful to adhere to the cultural norms and avoid wearing clothing that exposes a lot of skin. For most places you visit, it is appropriate to wear long sleeves, long pants, or skirts. We will have the opportunity to visit historical mosques that allow visitors, so modest attire is particularly important during those visits.
