Tour Plan of 6 Days tour from Marrakech to Fes

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech, followed by a drive through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass towards Ouarzazate, reaching an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along the way, you’ll stop to capture breathtaking photos and take in the panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages scattered along the road.

You’ll also enjoy a lunch break en route. Afterward, continue your journey to the village of Ait Benhaddou, renowned for its iconic Kasbah, perched on a hill above the fertile Ounila River. This village has served as a backdrop for numerous films such as “The Man Who Would Be King,” “Gladiator,” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” Your next stop is Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Atlas Film Studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. You’ll spend the night in Ouarzazate, where dinner is provided.

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll set off towards Todra Gorges. Your first stop is the Oasis of Skoura, where you’ll visit the beautiful Amerhidil Kasbah, set amidst vast palm groves with the stunning Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. The journey continues to Kalaat M’Gouna, known as the Valley of Roses, where you’ll have a break for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will travel through the Valley of Dades, often called the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through Boumalne and Tinghir. Take some time to relax and admire the panoramic views of the river before continuing along the river to the Todra Gorges. Here, you’ll spend the night alongside the Todra River, with dinner included.

On the third day, after breakfast, you will explore the surrounding area of the Todra Gorges on foot, marveling at the towering rock walls that reach up to 300 meters. The journey then continues to Tinjdad for lunch before heading towards Merzouga, passing through the city of Erfoud. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to see the ancient irrigation system known as Khatarat.

Before reaching your hotel at the foot of the mesmerizing orange dunes of Erg Chebbi, you may visit one of the marble fossil carriers in Erfoud. In Merzouga, you’ll embark on a camel ride to a desert camp nestled among the dunes. Here, you’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset, dine under the stars, and sleep in a traditional Nomad Berber tent.

This day is dedicated to exploring the desert. After breakfast, you’ll visit the village and oasis of Merzouga and meet the Gnawa people, originally brought from Sudan as slaves. You’ll listen to their unique music and learn about their culture. Then, you’ll journey behind the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping to take photos and admire the changing colors of the dunes in the sunlight.

Next, you’ll visit the village of Mirdani, a historical site now in ruins, and M’Fis, where coal was once mined by the local population. Continuing the tour, you’ll visit Bedouin families in their tents at Erg Chebbi, share a cup of tea, and explore the Tissardmine oasis. In the afternoon, you’ll return to your hotel or riad in Merzouga.

In the morning, you’ll have some free time to relax or explore the surroundings of your hotel. After lunch, the journey continues through Rissani, Erfoud, Errachidia, Rich, and the Tizi N’Talghom Pass, which sits at an altitude of 1,907 meters, towards the city of Midelt. Along the way, you can visit the Zawiya Moulay Ali ash-Sharif and wander through the lively Rissani Souk.

The route will take you through Errachidia, a town known for its military presence, with a stop at the panoramic Aoufous Oasis. You might also stop at Barrage Hassan Adakhil for some photos. The drive continues along the Ziz River, offering spectacular views of Ksours and the Ziz Gorges, passing through the Tunnel Du Legionnaire. You’ll spend the night in Midelt.

After breakfast, you’ll be treated to stunning views of Jebel Aachi Mountain, often covered in snow. You’ll leave Midelt and head towards Azrou, where you can explore this charming Berber town and enjoy lunch. Later, you’ll have the chance to visit the Cedar Forest, where you can see the famous old tree and meet the local apes.

The journey continues to Ifran, often referred to as “The Moroccan Switzerland,” where you can take pictures of a stone lion and visit Al Akhawayn University. The final leg of the journey takes you through Imouzzer Kander before arriving in Fes, where you will be transferred to your chosen accommodation, marking the end of your six-day tour from Marrakech to Fes.
